“…Plans to give you a hope and a future.” – God, Jeremiah 29:11

In 2006, I attended Teen Ranch’s open house because I noticed a sign on the side of the road. I ended up meeting Sharon who told me about how she was looking for volunteers to help with the summer camp. I was a high school student looking for volunteer hours, was curious about learning more about God and loved horses.

I attended staff training a month later and during campfire, someone preached a message about accepting Jesus into your heart. That night, my bunkhouse leader Laura, told us about a special prayer on how to do this and why it was so important . When she turned off the lights, I laid in my bunk, prayed to God and made a decision for Christ that night. That summer my faith grew exponentially and I felt touched by God in a way I never had before. The next summer, I returned as a camp counsellor. I got baptized in the pond and once again, my relationship with God grew and developed in ways I can’t even describe. My memories of singing Bible songs beside the campfire, playing games with my campers, waking up early in the morning to read devotionals with other counsellors, meeting some of my lifelong friends and leading young people to find Jesus are some of my most treasured memories.

Now, almost 15 years later, I look back at this time in my life with eternal gratitude. Teen Ranch was able to set the foundation of faith in my life. The whole trajectory of my life was changed because of attending Teen Ranch and I don’t even know where I would be today if it hadn’t played a part in my story.

Today, I work at Elevation Church Toronto as the Guest Experience, eGroups and Outreach Director alongside my husband who is the Campus Pastor. I get the opportunity to point people to Christ and I believe there is no greater calling. My faith is solid and God has transformed me in ways, I never thought possible.

There is nothing more personal for me than having the opportunity to sow back into Teen Ranch. It will never repay the way God touched my heart at Teen Ranch during my time as a counsellor, but I would love to be able to support the ministry at this time.

I am believing that Teen Ranch will continue to impact young adults the way it did for me. I am praying that as you keep doing the work God called you to do, He will multiply your efforts and more people will come to know Christ in a personal way.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating a place where I could experience the ultimate love of my Creator, there is no greater gift He could have given me. I am forever grateful.
